Chiropractic care at Valley Chiropractic Center starts with listening. Before anyone is adjusted, your doctor sits down with you, learns what hurts and how it affects your day, and examines the area to understand what is driving the problem. The treatment plan comes from that exam, not from a template.
What chiropractic care involves
Chiropractic care focuses on how the joints of the spine and body move, and how that movement affects the muscles and nerves around them. When a joint is restricted or irritated, it can cause local pain, stiffness, and sometimes symptoms that travel, such as pain down a leg or into an arm.
A chiropractic adjustment is a controlled, specific movement applied to a joint to restore motion. Our doctors use a range of chiropractic techniques, including traditional hands-on diversified adjustments and gentle, instrument-assisted options for patients who prefer a lighter approach. Depending on your case, care may also include soft-tissue work, stretching or strengthening you can do at home, and guidance on posture and daily habits that help keep the problem from coming back.
Who may benefit
Patients come to us for a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints, including:
- Lower back pain and stiffness
- Neck pain and headaches
- Sciatica and other nerve-related pain
- Sports injuries and overuse strains
- Pain following an auto accident
- Discomfort during pregnancy
Chiropractic care is not the answer for every condition, and not every patient needs an adjustment. Part of your doctor’s job is to tell you whether what you are dealing with is a good fit for care here, and to refer you elsewhere when it is not. Results vary from person to person, and we will be honest with you about what to expect.
What to expect at your appointment
Your first visit usually takes 45 to 60 minutes. It includes intake paperwork, a one-on-one consultation about your history and symptoms, and a physical exam of posture, range of motion, and the specific areas that are bothering you. Imaging is ordered only when the exam suggests it would change your care.
Once your doctor has explained what they found, most patients receive their first adjustment the same day. Nothing happens without your consent, and your doctor will explain each step before doing it. Follow-up visits are shorter, typically 15 to 25 minutes.

How we approach care
Our doctors share a few principles across all four offices:
- Exam first. We want to understand the cause before treating the symptom.
- Plain language. You should leave every visit knowing what we found, what we did, and why.
- Care that fits you. Technique and pressure are matched to your body, your comfort, and your health history. We have gentler options for older adults, children, and anyone who prefers a low-force approach.
- A plan with an endpoint. Many patients move from relief care to corrective care and then to occasional wellness visits, but that progression is a choice you make with your doctor, not a requirement. We re-check progress and adjust the plan as you improve.

Cost and insurance
Private-pay rates are the same at every office: the new patient exam is $75, and a standard follow-up adjustment is $50 ($40 for minor patients). Most insurance plans are accepted, and we verify your benefits before your first appointment so you know your copay and visit limits ahead of time. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Medicare covers spinal manipulation when it is medically necessary. Workers’ compensation and auto accident cases have additional requirements, so please call the office before booking those.
